"The Thursday Connection" is a specialized seven-week program designed specifically for seniors to bridge the digital divide. By combining hands-on technical training with a human-first approach to security and legacy, we help older adults move from digital anxiety to digital empowerment.
Each one-hour session is crafted to build upon the last, starting with a grounded foundation in AI understanding and moving directly into the critical skills of security and fact-checking.
The 7-Week Curriculum
Week 1: Understanding AI
We move past the buzzwords to build a fundamental understanding of what AI is and how it works. This session provides a grounded foundation, stripping away the mystery of large language models and demonstrating how they can be used as practical tools for research, drafting, and simplifying complex information in daily life.
Week 2: The Scammer’s Playbook
A counter-intelligence briefing where seniors learn to flip the script on hackers. We demonstrate actual scripts, AI voice-cloning tricks, and text-message traps so they can spot red flags before they appear.
Week 3: The Pocket Investigator
Learning the "3-Click Method" and reverse image search to verify news stories and photos. We provide the tools to navigate the internet with a critical, informed eye in an era of "fake news."
Week 4: Talk to the World
Mastering real-time translation tools. We show how to point a phone at a foreign menu or sign and watch it turn into English instantly - perfect for travelers and those with international families.
Week 5: The Family Archivist
Teaching seniors how to turn physical photo albums and old slides into a high-quality "Family Museum" using just their smartphone, ensuring these memories are preserved and easily shared.
Week 6: The AI Ghostwriter
Using AI as a collaborative partner to turn random memories into a beautifully written memoir. Seniors "tell" stories to the computer and let AI help organize them into cohesive chapters.
Week 7: The Digital Estate
Addressing the critical topic of digital inheritance. We set up password managers, inactivity managers, and "Digital Master Key" documents to ensure family members aren't locked out of important accounts.
